Council Volunteer Opportunities

The Newfoundland & Labrador Council is actively recruiting volunteers for several roles at the Group, Area, and Council levels!  If you’re interested in volunteering with Scouts Canada and helping us bring scouting to more and more youth across the province, please take some time to look through the volunteer positions and other details listed below. (click the position titles for full job descriptions)

Group Level Positions:

Section Scouter (Leader)

We’re always looking for volunteers who are excited to work directly with youth in our programs as a Section Scouter (formerly Leader).  These positions provide a great opportunity for you to pass along your skills and experience, and gain some new skills along the way, all while helping youth experience new things and have more adventures!  We need Sections Scouters in all Sections and Groups across Newfoundland & Labrador.  You can visit to find a group nearest you!

Group Commissioner

We currently need Group Commissioners for the following Groups:

-          1st Roncalli (Airport Heights)

-          1st St. Andrew’s (Downtown)

-          1st Carbonear

-          2nd Stephenville

-          1st Goulds

Area Level Positions:

Area Commissioner – Eastern Avalon Area

Area Youth Commissioner – Eastern Avalon Area

(must be under 26)

Council Level Positions:

Deputy Council Commissioner – Growth & Retention

Deputy Council Youth Commissioner – Growth & Retention

(must be under 26)

Deputy Council Youth Commissioner – Properties & Physical Program Support

(must be under 26)
