Appointment Announcement - Incoming Council Commissioner

February 16, 2020

Dear Scouters,

It is my sincere pleasure to announce the appointment of Andrew Holt as Incoming Council Commissioner for New Brunswick Council effective immediately. Andrew will work closely with Kerri Daamen, our New Brunswick Council Commissioner, to effectively transition the role over the coming months. This overlap will provide considerable value to the Council and the CK3, ensuring a smoother handoff.

A lifelong resident of New Brunswick, Andrew is married with 2 sons who both currently attend university. Professionally, he has a long career in Information Technology at Medavie Blue Cross. In his leisure time, he enjoys the outdoors, especially canoe camping and fly-fishing.

Andrew started his Scouting experience as a Cub and Scout in Moncton. After university, he played the role of section scouter for many years, and once his children joined, he followed them through the program as a scouter with the Cub, Scout and Venturer sections. He has recently taken on the role of Area Commissioner in Southeast New Brunswick, attended CJ 17 as Offer of Service and is helping to organize AJ2020 as Subcamp Manager. His experience as a youth and scouter has left him with a real passion for the benefits and experiences that can be obtained from the program. He is excited about the opportunity to connect with scouters and to contribute to ensuring that as many youths as possible have a high-quality scouting experience.

Andrew can be reached at Andrew.Holt@scouts.ca

As noted Kerri Daamen will continue in her role as Council Commissioner and mentor Andrew within their CK3 to ensure a smooth and easy eventual transition in August for New Brunswick, Kerri, and Andrew. Please join me in welcoming Andrew to his new role, working as part of the Council Key 3 to deliver fun, safe Scouting adventures to our members and helping Scouts Canada achieve its 5 priorities.

Thank you to Rick Wasson for his precise work as search committee chair in New Brunswick.

Yours in Scouting,

Tim Welch

National Commissioner
